I traveled extensively for work for many years and continue to travel the world even in retirement.  In 2009, I started writing things down about my travel experiences, mostly as a prosthetic memory for myself and my friends.  What started as a blog for friends has become a nicely trafficked website featuring hundreds of hotel reviews and many entries about the craft cocktail world.  Wonder where you should stay in a new city?  Noplasticshowers knows.  Use the convenient “Find me a Shower” feature.

FWIW, the name of the blog comes from the heuristic I use to pick hotels: do everything possible to avoid hotels with “showers” made of plastic shower curtains hung drearily over bathtubs!

Travel on the uptick?  Uh oh.  That was not the plan.

One advantage of lots of travel is watching ineresting trends develop and spread over the planet.  Craft cocktail excellence is one of those trends worth understanding.  There’s nothing quite as rewarding as finding a master barkeep when you’re out and about on planet earth.  Not content to just watch and learn, I built a serious bar a decade ago.
